UEFA Cup(Does anybody care)

How much longer will Juande Ramos have a job? That's the million dollar question(though due to the credit crunch, it will be paid over 30 years). Udinese defeated Tottenham 2-0, thanks to a Gomes penalty and Jamie O'Hara's sending off. Gomes fluffed(screwed up) a back pass and then took down an Udinese player. Di Natale converted the penalty, after saying before the match that none of the Tottenham players would even make it into the Udinese squad. David Bentley was not even on the bench, and the £15 million winger seems to have fallen out of favor after an interview in which he said the players did not understand the current system. Woodgate was taken off with a knock(slight injury), and may not play in the match against Bolton.

Braga defeated Portsmouth 3-0, in a major setback for the side from the coast. Pompey were outclassed and with their next game in Europe against AC Milan, their chance of progressing to the next stage is looking slim. The one positive result for an English side was Aston Villa's 2-1 defeat of Ajax. Martin Lauresen(the best scoring defender I know) netted the opener, and Gareth Barry scored the winner just before halftime. Villa continue to impress, and their consistency this season should see them through the group stages and give them the best chance at lifting the Cup of any Premiership side.

One Liners
  • Beckham going to AC Milan, MLS sure that he'll return to the Galaxy(yeah right)
  • Beye wins red card appeal, though Owen will be out injured(surprise)
  • Eduardo to return in three weeks, with Arsenal's luck they'll suffer another injury shortly
  • Drogba not in trouble over comments in book, apparently free speech does exist in England
  • Paul Ince warns Villa off of Roque Santa Cruz, I'm sorry Ince but just realize that he won't be playing for you much longer
